Heads they win, tails we lose...

So now the rumor is the Republican bigshots want Donald Trump to voluntarily drop out of the presidential race and turn their standard bearer's title over to his VP running mate, Mike Pence.

OK, lets think this through.  Mike Pence was an early Tea Party guy, the same Tea Party whose candidates Donald Trump blew away one-by-one in the primaries.  The same Tea Party that his followers saw as not representing them.

And in the other corner we have Hillary Clinton, who will get the vote of (most of) Bernie Sanders followers by defaultThey don't really like her...they see her (correctly) as "the establishment", the same establishment they saw as not representing them.

So now the majority of Republicans may have a candidate they didn't want, and a huuuuuge number of Democrats have a candidate they really didn't want, either.

Could things possibly get any more f__cked up?  Our Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves.

  1. Actually, a good number of the 'founding fathers' didn't want us to vote at all, and the majority of them wanted a republic, not a democracy. Correctly, they distrusted the collective intelligence and will of the 'people'.
I don't think they are rolling in their graves, I think they're nodding their skulls, muttering that they were right.

  2. Our founding father's had their own political problems. Things weren't a bed of roses for them politically.

  3. The Bernie-ites have moved on. Maybe some begrudgingly, but they've moved on with a significantly larger number of them supporting Hillary than those not. I don't think it is as huuuuge as you portray. In contrast, some Republicans are scrambling for a way out and clearly indicating why. Then again, there are those like Rubio, who was recently asked if he still supported Trump since calling him a "con artist" in the primaries. He said he stands by that comment, but now supports Trump. The truth hurts.

  4. It's only August. There's still plenty of time for things to get even uglier for Trump. People who think Hillary is as bad as Trump don't know what they're talking about. Not that I have much love for her, but at least she doesn't say crazy stuff on a daily basis.
