Who knew?

I just heard on da news that the cost to raise a child today from birth to age 18, not including college, is now up to $245,000.

Your first hint it's gonna be a long slog?  When the pediatricians first words to you are, "Don't worry.  Dumber people than you have done this."

Then some day, if you're lucky, you get to be a grandparent and all is well again.

Well, sort of.  :)

  1. LOL. Then there are those of us who decided not to mess with the whole situation :)

  2. If couples used logic instead of emotion (or hormones) when it comes to deciding whether or not to have children, the human race would be in trouble.

  3. I have four, can I sell them each for $200,000? They are already raised, that's a bargain!

  4. I did the math...the really rough, estimated numbers. I had three boys. They cost me more than I made during the years until the last one turned 18. Go figure.

  5. Yeah, it's different with the grands. Fun feeding them whatever you like, then sending them back. Got two, they are a joy.

  6. We were DINKS and still happy about it. Kids are not for everyone, but thankfully someone does it.
I do wonder where a welfare mom comes up with that kind of dough though.

  7. I sent the first picture to my grandson and his wife (who just gave birth). I fail to see the humor in the second one. ;-/
