Did you ever have "one of those days"?

I'm definitely a creature of habit.  I generally roll out of bed around 6 am, visit the loo, say "hey" to the wife and the pooch, grab a coffee drink, then check the internet news and social media.  Sometime later I shower, shave, dress, grab a quick bite to eat, take the dog out, THEN go out and face the world.  Every day, in that order.

Today bro is out of town, gone to his wife's niece's graduation from veterinary school.  I have been called out of retirement to again take over as CEO, maintanence man, junk phone call taker person, and general all around flunkie.  This prestigious position requires that I be up and out on the road by 8 am, therefore my morning schedule as outlined above is out the window.

Then I look out the window and BAM!....road's gone.  Fog ate it.  What the....?

It isn't that getting out on the road at 8 is too early, not at all.  It's just the sequence that's out of whack.  The world is just so....so very wrong this morning.  I feel like I've knocked the earth another couple of degrees further off it's axis.

Yep, I broke the earth.  That was me.  Sorry.

  1. Some days it feels like the world is set against you. Yesterday I was all set to go on a nice relaxing drive around the lake at lunch and then after a few miles the road is closed because some damned thing was on fire. What are the odds of that happening the one day of the week I want to go there? For me it seems pretty good.

  2. I got up at 6:00 too! But I have to be on the road by 7:30 if I'm going to get to work on time. But I know what you mean - as Mike knows, you don't want to mess with my routine. I might end up forgetting to put pants on or something. (Not really - quit cringing!)

  3. We are all victims of our routines. Please don't break my planet again!

  4. Heheh....poor you. I like my routines too but I can't feel too badly for you in this case.

  5. I know what you mean. My day gets equally screwed up if I step into my pants with my right leg first (instead of starting with my left leg). Don't laugh...just try it some morning.
