Some interesting skies, and the ultimate tailgating experience...

Spring is my second favorite season (following closely behind Autumn) mainly because I love the springtime thunderstorms that regularly roll in from the west.  I love to sit outside and watch them march steadily towards me, then at the last minute duck back inside.  Last night we had some nice boomers.  Unfortunately there was some damage farther north and east.

I just saw on the national news this same scene, taken from the ballpark a couple of blocks south of me.  Ominous looking, but it caused no damage.

It seems a couple of my Texas Tech bros (actually one is a sis) are re-purposing old shipping containers to offer the ultimate tailgating experience:

That's how you do it.  Texas Tech engineering at its finest!

Happy weekend everyone.  :)

  1. Someone else I know in that area got funnel clouds and hail. In Detroit yesterday we just got light rain and there was actually a rainbow out on the way home.

  2. Speaking of strange weather. We had dust from the Sahara blow over Germany yesterday. At a very high altitude.

  3. Love those cloud pics!

About those repurposed shipping containers - they build houses out of those. I think it is in the Netherlands, where they've built an entire apartment complex using those. In Plant City (a town about 15 miles down the road from us), there is a restaurant inside a shipping container. Fun idea!

  5. Great re-design on those shipping containers. I'd visit one.

Keep your head down as those nasty storms head through your area.
