I went to the eye doctor this afternoon for the standard exam and new specks, and before I could escape he clipped me for $462.00 AFTER insurance. I think I just paid a good chunk of his car payment! *What the hell does this guy drive?* It would have been cheaper to just get one of those cool dogs.
And I didn't even get dinner or a movie, much less a kiss.

That is just freaky...that's exactly the amount that I paid for my glasses (after insurance). Wonder if your eye doctor knows my eye doctor.

Ate a lot of lentil soup for a while.
ouch is right! But I also paid about the same sum for new glasses recently myself. Our health insurances no longer cover standard eye exams and glasses either and my private, extra insurance MAY give me €150 back... I'm waiting for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same situation, my wife has me on her eye coverage, which is far better than that offered at my job, but even then I have to cough up a nice chunk of change to cover everything.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not it would be cheaper in the long run for the eye correcting surgery but I'm not a candidate since they are so bad.
