Looks like Parker is a player!
He loves baseball, but so far has shown no interest at all in soccer. (At one point during the game he just walked off the field to go to the bathroom!) Later we watched as he literally escorted this young lady to the sideline and set them both up a chair. They were inseparable the rest of the game. Did I mention he's THREE! (I'm with him. Gimme a choice between soccer or the ladies....I'd take the ladies every time, too.)

Oklahoma spanked my Red Raiders pretty hard yesterday, 41-20. Bummer. :(

I understand Cranky Old Man and maybe a few others are going through withdrawal because I missed Cars and Coffee yesterday and have no new photos to offer. Always aiming to please, I've gone into my old car photo archive and can share these from past events:
A really sweet classic Maserati 3500....
....and it's contemporary, a MGA.
As long as we're doing sports cars, how about a Triumph TR-6? Nice, huh?
My weekend Rolls Royce. *dream on* "It doesn't cost any more to go first class. You just can't afford to go quite as often."
While much maligned, this is one of the few BMW's I like....a Z4M Coupe.
Here's the other....a Z8.
A "quirky" Citroen 2CV. (Think French VW Beetle....a post-war "people's car".)
Another oddity I'd love to own....a Volvo P1800. (Remember The Avengers?)
An achingly beautiful Alfa Romeo 8C.
A 1968 (?) Camaro SS....in my yoot it was what every 17-year-old boy in America wanted, except for a 17-year-old girl, that is. ;)
OK, that's enough for now. I've gotta save a few for later. Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Oh be still my heart, I had a 1958 MGA in College. Cost me $800. Same wire wheels and knock off hubs. I still couldn't pick-up women even with those sweet wheels.
ReplyDeleteI guess it is better to be a soccer star!
I was quite impressed with Parker's gentlemanly ways - when was the last time you pulled out MY chair ? (Just kidding folks he does it all the time - Parker is genetically gifted to be a gentleman.)
ReplyDeleteYou stirred up some memories with your picture of the Citroen 2CV! In the 70's, EVERY college student in Europe had to have one. It was nick-named "Le Canard" (the duck).
ReplyDeleteWhen the Citroen 2CV was developed after the Great Depression, the head of engineering and design at Citroen told his engineers to develop a "practical" vehicle. He wanted "a car for two people and a sack of potatoes that could drive straight across fields using just three liters per 100 kilometers (0.8 gallons/62 miles) while not breaking any of the eggs in the basket on board."
I believe they are trying to make it an all-electric car now.
And congratulations on Parker's goal!
Parker IS quite a player, on and off the field. Think of the damage he could do with the ladies if he got his hands on one of these classic cars.
ReplyDeleteThe cars are beautiful but those two kids are the charmers!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Parker has his priorities straight, now all we need to get him is the Camaro, maybe when he is 17 anyway :)
ReplyDeleteI had a tr-6 (1974 1/2) all through High School and college. I thought I was a hot dog back in the day...Mine was British Racing Green. Thanks for the trip down memory lane...
